INTEGRATING SMARTPHONES IN ENGLISH CLASS AT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL LEVEL: A STUDY ON INDONESIAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHER’S PERCEPTION

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, it requires that learning process, including teaching English at elementary school level, is carried out with an online system. Implementing system closely related use of technology. Smartphone one technology tools are widely used in facilitating process. Hence, study this article was see perception teacher integrating smartphones during Based on research, researchers a case as research design, semi-structured interviews, and observations collecting data. Then, data were analyzed by using thematic analysis, which also elaborated TPACK framework from theory Mishra Koehler 2006. The reveals two responses teacher’s smartphones, namely negative positive responses. In response, three perceptions generated (1) ineffective delivery subject materials, (2) issue managing students, (3) internet access problems. addition, include adequate medium, affordable platform for teach, YouTube channels fun way learn young learners. conclusion, students level certainly raised reactions Thus, learners required role teach technological, pedagogical, content knowledge adequately.
